LittleDoses: the right dose, in the right syringe, with a record everyone can see.

LittleDoses is an iOS app for parents and caregivers of infants, children, and teens. It answers "how much?" from your child's weight and the bottle in your hand, keeps a shared log of every dose and symptom, runs prescription schedules with reminders, and shows you exactly how to give each kind of medicine.

What it does

Weight-based dosing for common over-the-counter medicines

Pick the medicine, confirm the concentration printed on your bottle, and LittleDoses calculates the dose for your child's current weight — shown in milliliters rounded to what a standard oral syringe can actually measure, with the milligram amount alongside. It covers acetaminophen and ibuprofen in every common liquid and chewable form, plus common children's allergy, cough, and cold products with the age limits that apply to each one.

Safety checks that run every time

• Minimum age. Ibuprofen is blocked under 6 months; cough and cold products carry their own age gates. When a medicine is not appropriate, the app says so and points you to your pediatrician instead of producing a number.
• Spacing. The app knows when the last dose was given and tells you when the next one is safe.
• 24-hour maximums, across products. Acetaminophen in a combination cold medicine counts toward the same daily ceiling as plain acetaminophen. LittleDoses sums by ingredient, not by brand.
• Allergies. Record your child's medication allergies once and the app flags any medicine in the same class before you dose.
• Weight that stays current. Infants gain weight fast; the app nudges you to re-weigh before it relies on a stale number.

Dose and symptom log

Log what was given, when, and by whom, alongside temperatures and symptoms. The timeline is what you show the pediatrician at the visit, and what settles "did anyone give the Motrin?" at 3 a.m.

Prescription schedules and reminders

Enter a prescription as written — an antibiotic three times a day for ten days, a controller inhaler morning and night — and LittleDoses turns it into a schedule with reminders, tracks doses given and missed, and gives plain-language guidance on what to do if a dose is late or your child throws it up. The app does not calculate prescription doses; it keeps the prescribed dose on time.

Household sync

Both parents, a grandparent, and the babysitter can share one child profile and one log, so every caregiver sees the same last-dose time on their own phone.

Step-by-step administration guides

Pediatrician-written, step-by-step walkthroughs for the parts no label explains well: drawing up and giving an oral liquid with a syringe, using an inhaler with a spacer and mask, running a nebulizer, giving nasal sprays and eye drops, and helping an older child learn to swallow pills.

Who it is for

Parents and caregivers of children from birth through the teen years. It is most useful in the first few years, when weight changes quickly and most medicines are liquids, and for any family managing a scheduled course of medication.
